I remember a forum thread some years ago when two dudes (one Adi and one Nike heads) were arguing over which marque was the better one. The Nike guys main point was that Adi have never made a comfortable shoe……I think that guy would have to eat his words if he were to try a pair of these Adidas Ultra Boost on….BY FAR…..THE MOST….comfortable shoe I have ever worn…more so than Roshe Run/Currents/Prestos….PERIOD.
MORE INSANE COMFORT AFTER THE JUMP
If there’s one thing that annoys the older shoe connoisseur, it’s when people buy shoes just to leave them in a box on a shelf for years…..shoes are meant to be worn….straight out the box and on the feet.
COUPLE MORE PICS AFTER THE JUMP
The pick of the pack so far for me. I have resigned myself to the fact that there are many things in life I will never have the chance to own, one such item is the original 35th Anniversary Superstar Vintage Footpatrols. The series dropped when I was still living in Manchester and without the means to be able to source a pair, this fact hurts every time I see someone wearing a pair. I have thought about spending a pretty penny on an eBay purchase, but would be too scared of getting stung with a fake pair…..there are many out there and by all accounts are pretty hard to spot.
This release, however was pretty easy to pick up (and still is looking at certain sites)….The superstar 80’s is my favourite shelltoe guise and burnt orange is such a good colour, with these facts in mind, it was a pretty easy decision to take the plunge and pull the trigger (with a little help from a good friend). Did someone say ‘doubleup’?
MORE /// GOODNESS AFTER THE JUMP
Took a couple of quick shots in between Autumn rain showers….stupidly passed on them when they launched, something I think a lot of people did. The understated nature of the colorway is something of a rarity in this day and age…especially when it comes to collaborations. Designers of the world need to take note of the fact that lessening the shock factor with dramatic colourways isn’t necessarily a bad thing…if anything, it just means that the design will maintain it’s appeal way beyond the initial hype train.

Any company that features a Legend like Gonz as part of their team can count on my support. It also helps that Adi are consistently killing it with their footwear releases at the moment, including Classics, Skate and Performance.
Adidas really are on a roll at the moment…delving into their back catalogue of 90’s technical runners is turning out to be a good move by the house of ///. This, Tent Green colourway of the classic silhouette is an absolute banger in my eyes, and one that everyone should try and hunt down if they can. Adidas designers, at least for me, seem to have a really good eye for colour choice as well as effective blocking that doesn’t interfere with the lines of the model it’s applied to (something that hasn’t been so prevalent with other marques certain releases of late).

His work is truly next level, with an attention to detail that isn’t often seen in this age of disposable everything. For this project he’s customised some Superstars for B-Girl Terra, and amazingly talented breaker (check out her skills HERE).
Watch this space for an up and coming project that Benji is going to be working on for me…..
