I could be accused of being biased about these, having worked with the boys at Laced for a while when I was living in Aus, but I’d like to think I’d love these just as much if they were a GR.
The Zenith is my favourite LCS model and the boys have done a really good job on these….the theme fits right in with the Brisbane sense of humour, the colour blocking and materials are great and the shape…what more could you ask for?
MORE PICS AFTER THE JUMP
Big up to Clint, Phil and the rest of the guys over at Laced. It’s great to see them getting some well deserved global coverage.
My boy Taz was commissioned by Red Bull, to document the ‘Red Bull curates Mo’ Munny, Mo’ Problems’ show that happened last week in the medium of video. The edits are now done and online. Check ’em out, I think he’s done a sterling job:
Longer version with artist interviews after the jump
To kick off the weekends festivities, the guys at CARBON put on an event, beer and pizza flowed whilst the tunes spun and the heads mingled.
House of pains Danny Boy showed up to show his support:
So, last night was fun (beers)…today…not so (hangover), therefore, I’ll keep it brief.
James and the guys at laced put on an awesome show last night. The display of classic bikes was mind blowing…..the beer flowed and a steady stream of people came through to check the madness. Big shout goes out to Christian who did a sterling job on the signs, including the highly impressive hand painted Vans logo on the wall, and to anyone else who I spoke to (appologise for no name checks, but I was hammered by the end of the night).
If you’re in or around Brisbane this weekend make sure you pay them a visit and check it out….in the meantime, check out the pics:
Now I know Duncan is a friend of mine and therefore I could be considered somewhat biased, but if you look at his work I’m sure you’ll agree that his paintings are nothing short of amazing…..not only the fact that they are impeccably executed, but the fact that he mixes his fine art style with modern day ‘pop culture’ iconica is a stroke of genius (excuse the pun).
His recent work for the launch of the third round of Adidas Star Wars shoes was VERY well received (Pics can be found on Project4000.com.au). Some of the pieces are still on display and for sale at Laced…but be quick if you want a piece of this guys work….his profile will blow up real soon and then none of us will be able to afford any of his paintings. In the meantime, he is open for commissions, so why not hit him up on his blog at Iconic:a?
Check out the pics of his IN PROGRESS (I know…it’s hard be believe) works featuring some of yours and my favorite game characters:
If you’re in Brisbane Tomorrow night (Friday December 10th), you’d be a fool to miss this one. On show will be a dazzling display of BMX bikes, accessories and memorabilia from Brisbane’s most knowledgeable and passionate BMX aficionados. If you’re in the same age bracket as me I’m sure you’ll find something to bring back feelings of nostalgia….trying to bunny hop and do endos on the curbs outside your parents’ house…no?….maybe it’s just me then.
Also featuring during the event is the unveiling of the Laced store project bike (the Laced .35 special in recognition of the stores address) that has been in development for a good while now…the guys at Laced and James have toiled over every detail of this bike and I’m sure it will be a sight to behold. As an added bonus, Laced has teamed up with Vans to launch a highly limited edition version of the Authentic to commemorate the event…available on the night, you’ll be lucky to get a pair, so get there early.
The show only runs from the opening night (Friday 10th December 7pm) to Sunday (the 12th) at 5pm so make sure you free up a slot in your file’o’fax….and if you can get to the opening night, I’m sure the guys will put on some booze….they usually do 😉
I’ll be taking my camera, so expect drunken shots of bearded men and long haired freaks a’plenty.
