Another shoe I foolishly slept on. I personally prefer the contrasting make up of this one from the pack. I really like the contrast of the poppy red against the black/grey, and the subtle but effective use of the speckle on the mudguard sections instead of the sole is a really nice touch.
I bought the Saucony Shadow 6000 Kit Kats on a bit of whim, but didn’t wear them for ages as they just didn’t sit right with me. One day I was going through some boxes and took a long hard look at them, trying to decide whether to sell them on or not…..it dawned on me that they would look a lot better if some of the brown accents were changed to black, so, with nothing to lose I grabbed a sharpie and went to work.
I feel a bit of a fake calling these a custom, having seen the quality and skill of people like Benji Blunt and Ghettrocentricity….hence the reason I call them more of a tweak.
ONLY ONE MORE EXTRA SHOT
2 weekends, 2 swap meets and 2 very different experiences for me. Last week I was snowed under with manning my own table at 6Acre, this week I had the pleasure of attending the second Sneaks & Peaks event, held at Boxxed in Birmingham.
There was a fantastic mix of new, used and vintage kicks on sale as well as a good amount of apparel, customisers and artists displaying their work. The space was really well appointed with enough room for everyone to move around quite freely, although there were a couple of pinch points that clogged up the flow from time to time. The wet start to the day didn’t do the graff artists or the food vendors in the outside area any favours, but thankfully the sun came out later in the day and allowed everyone to make use of the external space.
Anyway, all in all a great day and I managed to pick up a couple of pieces for my crate (more pics to follow)….and finally, a massive shout out to the Sneaks & Peaks guys for putting on such a heavy event, can’t wait for the next one….and also to everyone I managed to chat with (too many names to mention, but you know who you all are 😉
MORE: WARNING THIS POST IF PIC HEAVY!!!
I made a couple of tweaks to the far from hyped Kit Kat Shadow 90s, and I’m really pleased with the result. Just goes to show….if you’ve got a pair you’re not really into….think about putting your own touch on em to make them more to your liking.

These (and the blue/grey pair from the same pack) are a prime example of what a decent shoe should look like. Massively under rated when they dropped, they will be highly sourt in years to come…mark my words.
More after the jump
I’m ashamed to say that I’ve missed out on the last two Crepe City events since arriving back in the UK. This video documents the 2011 event (I’m assuming that the 2012 video will be dropping soon).
