Recently retroed, and widely slept on … many people will be sorry they passed on these and the Total Orange version. A historic shoe in a classic colourway…no brainer really.

Adidas recently collaborated with the Japanese retailer ‘Mastermind’ to produce a number of classic /// silhouettes. The pick of the bunch (in my opinion) was the ZX500 OG. The materials are really nice and the adition of an ‘x’ shaped perforation is a really nice subtle, yet bold addition. Well worth checking out if you can still find them for retail. MORE
We Brits like nothing better than a nice cup of tea. The guys over at New Balances Flimby factory know this and so used the fact as inspiration for the imaginatively named Tea pack. To mark the launch of this quintessentially English release, the good folks over at End threw a party and filmed the frivolities for posterity.
To mark the fact that 2013 is the Chinese year of the snake, Asics and New York sneaker boutique ‘Extra Butter‘ have teamed up on the ‘Death List 5’ project, a quintet of classic silhouettes designed to doff the proverbial cap to 5 of the worlds most deadly serpents. This video features details of the first two releases in the collaboration.
Quite possibly the coolest video ever created. How do the Japanese manage to be so outlandish and keep just on the right side of kitsch?
Once again, thanks to Taz for the heads up.
When I was introduced to Futura at Carbon in Melbourne, I thought it was really strange that he introduced himself as ‘Leonard’, but that’s just who he is: a genuinely down to earth and nice guy who doesn’t want to be compartmentalized as just a graffiti artist. This short film follow his exploits with local artists in Mexico City cut together with interviews which give a facinating incite into how he sees his ‘Futura’ persona and how it fits into his being.
Massive shout out to Taz for the heads up on this vid.
It’s only when you see a flyknit up close that you realise just how amazing it is. The multicolor nature of this (and the racer version) really let you see how intricate the Flyknit technology really is. Whilst these aren’t as bright as their racer counterpart, the lunar sole unit better suits wider feet and therefore was the option I plumped for.

Firstly, a massive thanks going out to Big World Picture for the heads up on this awesome video of one of Aus’s most talented graff artists ‘Sofles‘. It’s a really interesting concept and superbly executed….and that coming from someone who isn’t normally a fan of stop motion.
For the first New Balance numeric video the team focused on the home of cinema and celebrity, Los Angeles, California. They searched the spaces between the glamour, the fortune and the broken promises. They found that beneath its dazzling surface L.A. is as real and raw as any major metropolis on earth. Skate spots abound in the side-streets and empty school yards of this glitzy place in the sun.
Starring: PJ Ladd, Arto Saari, Levi Brown, Tom Karangelov, Jordan Taylor and Tyler Surrey.
