Really nice Vice documentary about the skate scene in England. Good to see the old Harrow park (where I skated back at the start of the 90’s). I have some great memories of hanging around the New Deal store, skating the park and venturing into London to hit spots like Southbank….I remember trying to skate the fountain outside Buckingham Palace and getting kicked off by the police with the classic quote: ‘you can’t skate there, the fucking queen lives here’. Also glad to hear Gary and Ray from the New Deal store getting a mention….Gutted there was no mention of Manchester (or ANY northern towns)….come on Vice….do another but cover some of the north history.

Any company that features a Legend like Gonz as part of their team can count on my support. It also helps that Adi are consistently killing it with their footwear releases at the moment, including Classics, Skate and Performance.
One of my all time favourite skaters, Jeremy Klein was all about the speed, power and style…this fine example of skater determination, shows him attempting and eventually pulling off one of the gnarliest nose picks you’re ever likely to see.

i know the miniature thing has been done before, but Thomas Doyle does things a little different from what I’ve seen before…and it’s pretty interesting…..
Adidas really are on a roll at the moment…delving into their back catalogue of 90’s technical runners is turning out to be a good move by the house of ///. This, Tent Green colourway of the classic silhouette is an absolute banger in my eyes, and one that everyone should try and hunt down if they can. Adidas designers, at least for me, seem to have a really good eye for colour choice as well as effective blocking that doesn’t interfere with the lines of the model it’s applied to (something that hasn’t been so prevalent with other marques certain releases of late).

It took me a while, but I eventually managed to pick up a pair of the excellent BAIT Gel Saga Phantom Lagoons. I’ve probably said it before, but anything aqua or purple always grabs my attention but if they are both included on a classic silhouette, I’m sold. Whilst this release was limited, it was produced in enough numbers to ensure that there are plenty about on the reseller market and the prices aren’t that high….if you get the chance I would recommend picking a pair up….I certainly would consider a double up if the chance comes my way.
